Click below for links to Web pages of interest to Atomic City's members, and hence its audience. The list changes frequently, and we'll make an effort to order it so that the newest stuff is at the top of the list. Anything goes here, so be prepared!
- TheInternet Underground
Music Archiveis one of the Web's most famous music resources, promoting the works of many independent and worthwhile artists in many genres.
- Jim Hurley's Arachnaut homepage has interesting emusic references and other nifty stuff....
- The Evolution Control Committee is one of the most important forces in modern music. You'll cheer! You'll cogitate! You'll wet yourself laughing!
- Jon Drukman, who is either one of the hottest new techno artists out there or a total psychotic (or both), has a nifty Website for his production company,
Bass Kittens.
- Check out the homepage for Mark Petersen'sLoch Ness Productions, home of Geodesium and other great space music and New Age recording artists.
- The electron!ca
Site is a fascinating introduction to the Electronica Mailing List, a discussion
of modern digital, analogue, and computer-based synthesis.
- Every artist needs a medium, and the medium of choice for many emusicians these days is the DAT, or Digital Audio Tape. There's a Web site for Cassette House, the best supplier of inexpensive, high-quality DATs that we know of. Tell Art that you heard about it from Atomic City.
- In 1993, some time after the disappointment of the Beta Test/Saturnalia
sessions, Team Metlay reflected at length on its past and future in an
electronic interview for the Web-zine Sound Constructors. While
somewhat 'old news', this interview still makes for fascinating
reading, especially in the light of the recent release of Ballistic.
- Joe McMahon (with a bit of help from Mike Metlay) moderates one of the
Internet's most erudite and informative electronic music discussion
lists, EMUSIC-L. This list has its own homepage and many interesting
links.
- There is a huge directory of electronic music pages ranging from GIFs
of famous synthesizers to profiles of electronic music artists and
labels located at the hyperreal.com site. It's a real gold mine.
- My colleague and friend, world-renowned recording artist Kit Watkins, has a beautiful Web site for his own Linden Music label. Check it out, and tell him Metlay sent you!
- Occasionally there's some confusion between Atomic City, the company
that puts out the Team Metlay CDs, and Atomic Novelties/Atomic Records,
the company responsible for the excellent rec.music.industrial
compilation CD sets entitled MIND/BODY. We don't mind the occasional
confusion, since some of our listeners (and artists!) overlap, and we
provide a link to their Web page for people who come to us by accident.
