Taffy and other soft candies are hard to cut. They are stretchy so they need to be cut and torn to cut into pieces. That is what this machine does. The taffy or caramels are fed in from one end, cut with the big knives that only touch the candy to cut it (avoiding sticking) and then the brass fly device in the front spins and tears the candy. At this point we are concentrating on hard candies, so this machine has not yet been used, but we hope to go there at some point. This machine came from a candy shop in Michigan.
PLEASE READ: We have been received a truly humbling amount of orders this season.
We are still making candy until 2am most days. Orders are going out as fast as we can. We had hoped to double our sales in December over 2015 numbers. We received 10 times the orders of the previous December.
We appreciate you understanding that had made candy takes time. We are catching up fast as of today (1/5/17), and we expect any order placed today to ship in approximately 2 weeks. Orders are being shipped in the order they came in. Our second shipping station goes on line early next week.
We are going to start regular e-mail updates in the next day to keep everyone informed of where we stand on shipping.
Thank you again for enjoying what we do as much as we do. You make it possible for us to do what we love. Thank you from all of us here at Lofty Pursuits.
