In Lofty Pursuits, our store and candy factory, we have a collection of restored hand cranked candy making machines from the late 1800's. Drops are made by feeding the hand needed hot sugar into these presses to produce a sheet of candy that is cooled and "Dropped" into the various shapes that were pressed into the sugar. This is why "Lemon Drops" or "Cough Drops" are called "drops". We have a selection of shapes we make of different flavors, and each shape has a different feel in your mouth. The flavor will match the shape, and will remind you that sometimes they did do things better years ago.
